At Dean Dental Care, we utilize revolutionizing CEREC technology, which stands for chairside economical restorations of esthetic ceramics. In the years prior to this advanced dental software, we would need to craft and place restorations in multiple appointments, requiring our patients to wait for at least two weeks before they could finally get their permanent crown. Now, Dr. Dean can craft exquisite new restorations for patients within a matter of minutes, all from the comfort of our dental office, using these three major components of CEREC technology:
Most patients who would like a natural-looking crown can benefit from the highly efficient CEREC technology that we utilize in our dental office. However, people who have a deep bite may require an alternative solution. Here are some benefits that you’ll be able to gain from CEREC restorations:
CEREC uses CAD/CAM technology (computer-aided design and manufacture) that allows our team to create your crowns while you wait. Our in-house milling machine uses all of the precise measurements and data that we’ve collected to carve your restoration from a solid block of dental porcelain within a matter of minutes. Plus, it’s all completed digitally, meaning you won’t have to deal with bad-tasting, gag-inducing impression putty.
First, Dr. Dean will prepare your tooth for the crown by removing a portion of the enamel to accommodate the thickness of your restoration. We’ll than take digital impressions of your mouth and transfer them onto our computer screen. From here, Dr. Dean will design your new crown to his specifications, ensuring the perfect fit. The completed blueprint will then be sent to our milling machine, which we will have prepared with a block of dental porcelain. In about 15 minutes, your crown will be completed and will be stronger than what you would typically receive from a dental laboratory.
Before we place your restoration on your tooth, we’ll make sure it fits exactly as it should. Then, we’ll polish it and cement it to your prepared tooth, completing your improved and restored grin!
